PUBLIC INPUT NEEDED ON CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS
The Governor's Vehicle Emissions Workgroup is seeking public comments. Environmental groups have already generated more than 300 form letters in support of adopting California emissions standards in Oregon. Alan DeBoer, OADA's member on the Governor's Workgroup, is asking for dealers and dealership employees to submit comments, pro or con, on adopting California standards for Oregon vehicles.
The quickest and easiest method for submitting comments is to email callev@deq.state.or.us. This will be most effective if done from your personal email addresses rather than your dealership email so as not to appear to business driven. Please put "CalLEV" in the subject line. OADA's only
chance to stop the Governor is to restrict the ability of DEQ to spend money on
California emissions standards.
Placing a prohibition on spending within a state budget is a rarely-used,
slight-of-hand maneuver. But
without it, California emissions standards might be a done-deal. Below is the address for mailing comments:
Oregon Department of Environmental Quality Please forward this email to all on your distribution list for immediate response. If you have any questions about California emissions standards or the process of adopting them in Oregon, please contact the OADA office at 877-391-9539. | |||
